About Me

About Me

I’m David Ellerby. Having had experience as a community and NHS  pharmacist, church minister, husband & parent over the past few decades, I consider that I am able to understand the problems and issues that can trouble a human being.

Whether you feel your dilemma is behavioural, emotional or spiritual, I believe that in our working together you can discover more of your inner being and strengths and become enabled to move forward positively.

My initial training as a person-centred counsellor means that from your very first session your time is about you.

I am able to work with various techniques and methods as your story unfolds. In this way, your sessions with me are tailor-made for you.

In collaboration with my wife, who is also a counsellor, I am involved in couples work.

I use an income related fee-scale. In some circumstances it is possible to enter therapy with me free of charge.

I am based in Elgin, Moray.

My qualifications are BSc [Pharmacy] 1978, Diploma in Person Centred Counselling 2014, Certificate in Clinical Supervision 2018, Various other training certificates in Transactional Analysis, Focus Oriented Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Coaching, Internal Family Systems, Schema Therapy,Systemic Couples Therapy.

My professional organisations are currently the ACC and the NCS. I am on counsellor registers that have been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

I am the training facilitator for the Moray Alliance of Counsellors, organising training for over 125 therapists.
